Born in Cardiff in 1961 to a Welsh-speaking family.
Lives in Oxford with her partner, Tony Evans,
an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick.

Education

Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen (bilingual school), Pontypridd, South Wales
University of Exeter (BA History, First Class, Dean's Award)
University of Reading (MA European Studies, Distinction)

Studied piano with Clifford Lewis. ABRSM silver medallist; Grade VIII Distinction
