New Novel:
Nia's third novel, The Colour of Grass, is due for publication by Seren Books early in the year. Launch details to be announced
On the Record: Nia's musical for three voices, Daddy's Girls, is to be recorded as a CD by Sarah Leatherbarrow, Rebecca Martin and Jane Hainsworth. The work will be performed live at a London venue later in the year.
At the Movies: in February 2011 Philip Hind will be screening a short documentary to commemorate the centenary of Oxford's first purpose-built cinema, The Ultimate Picture House on Jeune Street. Nia is composing an original soundtrack for the film, which uses archive material and interviews to trace the cinema's history from the silent movie era to the present day.
2010
The Singing Word: during the summer and autumn of 2010 Nia will be taking part in a scheme for new opera librettists at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Work produced as part of the scheme is due for performance in February 2011.
Island Tales:
after a visit to Jersey's top attractions Durrell Wildlife and Mont Orgueil during their quieter season, Nia's account of the trip will appear in the autumn/winter edition of Pure Jersey magazine
Song and Dance: compositions being previewed or performed this year include Love Online (words and music, with Andy Milburn) and Tales of the Greeks (words; music by John Whittaker). Nia's musical Sedition is being workshopped by students at the Royal Academy of Music. See Events Diary for dates and details

Songs of a Nervous City: Nia's first-hand account of preparing to perform a recital of avant-garde music is published in arts magazine The Raconteur
Bryn Hyfryd: Nia's short story (see below) is published in the first issue of literary magazine The Raconteur
2008
A Story of Humanity: Nia is one of six authors commissioned by the Equality and Human Rights Commission to write a short story celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Her story Bryn Hyfryd portrays the isolated and fearful life of a carer struggling to get by.
National Year of Reading: as part of Llanelli's Community Reads campaign, Nia's novel Persons Living or Dead is one of ten titles shortlisted as a 'favourite read'
